Welcome,
Thank you for taking the time to visit my campaign website.
I’m a classroom teacher, not a career politician. I’m running for Congress because I view elected office as a form of public service, not a lifelong occupation.
The professional politicians in Washington have lost touch with the needs of their constituents, because they don't live among or like the rest of us. They don't have to worry about keeping their health care, losing their jobs, refinancing their mortgages, or being able to afford retirement, because the taxpayers keep them comfortable and economically secure.
It's time to bring our troops home from Iraq in a timely and responsible fashion, fight a smart and effective war on terror, and start investing again in our schools, our communities, and our people. Most of all, it's time for new leadership and new ideas.
I was born in Trenton and grew up in Bordentown. Central Jersey is my home. It’s a place where neighbors look out for each other, where we honor our seniors and invest in our kids, and where government plays a limited but important role in helping each individual to achieve his or her full potential.
Over the past seven years, George Bush and his supporters in Congress have betrayed the values that we hold dear in Central Jersey. They’ve sent young men and women to war without caring for their families or equipping them with the resources they need to win the peace. They’ve broken a moral covenant with our veterans and our seniors. They’ve turned a budget surplus into a $3.3 trillion deficit and saddled the next generation with a crippling national debt.
We can do better. Here in Central Jersey, we know that America is at its best when we work together, not when we all go it alone. Let’s make that a guiding principle in Washington.
Please keep in touch. Send me your thoughts and your comments by going here. Above all, stay engaged. That’s how democracy works best.
You’re an important part of this campaign, and I look forward to working with you in the coming months as, together, we offer a better alternative for the people of Central Jersey.
